Agriculture | Cars While the traveler's plane makes the "final approach" to the local airfield, an observant window seat gazer will notice the cars on Cuban roadways. Classic cars, windows down, spewing thick, dark exhaust gases zip in and out of the airfield terminals carrying passengers, families and pets. Thsee vintage USA manufactured cars were made in the 1940s and the 1950s, imported into Cuba and are lovingly preserved, often through innovative ways, today. If you are lucky, the cab you hail may be one of these "classics" and the price is often $5 or less to have a ride back in time. Traveling in these dinosaurs at night along El Malecon is a real treat for college and high school students who rarely would have the experience back home.
